Maurice Voile - C Company
Maurice was the driver of a tank, on 9th April 1917, commanded by Lt J C Cameron and whose crew included Cpl CE Spurgeon and Gnr Jimmy Newell. They fought their way though the Harp feature at the start of the battle of Arras; the tank being hit from the front by direct fire as it reached an enemy strongpoint. Maruice was killed in action. The picture shows Maurice with his daughter Joan, in the garden of his family home in Cheltenham.
